NYC Goes Orange
When: October 20, 2008
- December 31, 2008
Location: All around NYC!!
Imagine the city's skyline illuminated orange...all of your colleagues wearing "Go Orange" buttons...your favorite restaurants and shops raising funds for families in need...and media outlets filling their pages and broadcasts with "Go Orange" messages — all in support of hunger relief!
During the Food Bank's annual NYC Goes Orange campaign, individual New Yorkers and our partners come together to "Go Orange" — the color of hunger awareness — to help hungry New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs. The campaign launched on October 20 with a special orange lighting of the Empire State Building by Food Bank board members Mario Batali and Stanley Tucci and continues through the holiday season, with individuals and companies alike finding ways to raise funds and awareness in support of the 3.1 million New Yorkers who struggle to afford food.
Over the 2007 holiday season, our "Go Orange" partners and individual supporters helped raise more than three million meals for New Yorkers in need. Help us do more in 08!
